On our trip around the East Coast, historical sites have been a focus. We hope to complete a better understanding of history by reading the stories of history then visiting the original sites. Plimoth Plantation was our next stop.
We ended up spending the day at Mystic Seaport. At first I thought the place was a little pricey but we choose to spend the day anyway and I am glad to report it was well worth the price.
As soon as we talked about going on a trip and the trip would be east from Chicago, Fallingwater was going to be our first stop. The Frank Lloyd Wright house, the most famous house ever built, redefined what a residential home could be. I had high exceptions and it exceeded every one of them. The true mark of something great, it is better in person.
After a whirlwind start to the trip we slow down in Foxboro, MA at Normandy Farms. We will spend an entire week here in and around the Boston area. The first day of this stop being a clean up the car, do the laundry, get back to school and work day, but we have a beautiful place to do it.
The name Ohiopyle is from a native american indian word "ohiopehhla" meaning white frothy water. We were drawn here by Falling Water but the area has so much more to offer.
So we are embarking on a 5ish week trip around the east coast. We are starting in western Pennsylvania and ending up where, we are not quite sure. Our first leg of driving was estimated at 10 hrs. We wanted to set the tent up in daylight, so we had to get an early start. Wake at 4am and out the door at 5:15.
