We spent some time in the Fort Myers / Punta Gorda area of Florida over the winter. Aurora wanted to try something new and we found a great beginners quilting class at the White Daisy Quilting Shop. The drive north to Acadia National Park in early October was one of the most magnificent. We spent two weeks in Maine and everyday the colors changed and the contrast of the trees, the sky, the land and the water seemed to only get better and better.

As soon as we talked about going on a trip and the trip would be east from Chicago, Fallingwater was going to be our first stop. The Frank Lloyd Wright house, the most famous house ever built, redefined what a residential home could be. I had high exceptions and it exceeded every one of them. The true mark of something great, it is better in person.

The name Ohiopyle is from a native american indian word "ohiopehhla" meaning white frothy water. We were drawn here by Falling Water but the area has so much more to offer.
