On July 30th my family started on the road…without me. I miss them incredibly and knowing that they are having fun without me is bittersweet. I’m so happy that they have this opportunity yet, sad that I am not experiencing it with them. I can’t wait to join back up with them and make more wonderful memories.
The drive north to Acadia National Park in early October was one of the most magnificent. We spent two weeks in Maine and everyday the colors changed and the contrast of the trees, the sky, the land and the water seemed to only get better and better.
Towards the end of summer, when crowds have died down and kids have gone back to school, I have always had the urge to travel. I would look up places to go and, invariably, I would be drawn to color drives; drives to look at the trees changing colors. Fall is my season...
We could hear water so decided to walk into the woods a little. We ended up finding a little lake and little waterfalls. We spent maybe an hour and a half exploring. If we had packed water shoes and a lunch we would have spent much more time there. We came to find it was called Schroon Lake.
